Referring to the Government Regulation No. 41/2006, foreign researchers need to have a research permit to carry out their research in Indonesia. In order to obtain such permit, foreign researchers have to submit an application with some requirements.

Referring to Government Regulation No. 41/2006, foreign researchers need to have a research permit to carry out their research in Indonesia. In order to obtain such permit, foreign researchers have to submit an application with requirements as follows:

2. Recommendation Letter or Letter of Approval from University or Research Institute as the guarantor of the research.
3. Letter of Recommendation from the Indonesian counterpart of the foreign researcher (Indonesian Research Institute or University).

Reporting
In accordance to the Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia no. 08/M/PER/IX/2007, all foreign are oblige to submit their research’s report to the Minister periodically through Ketua Tim Koordinasi Perijinan dan Penelitian Asing. The said report should be approved by the Indonesian counterpart of the foreign researchers. A copy of the said report should also be sent to the Local Authority where the research take place and to the Indonesian counterpart of the foreign researchers.
For researches up to 3 (three) months, the researchers should only submit 1 (one) final report whereas for 1 (one) year researches, the researchers should submit a progress report every 3 (three) months and a final report.
